Job Summary

The Office of Events and MCIC is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Special Events Assistant & Parking Lot Attendant to join our team. This role involves managing parking facilities, assisting guests during special events, and ensuring smooth and efficient operation. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 Football Game/Concert Parking: To provide logistical parking support for various special events on campus including Naropa parking lots during CU football games in the fall. This position will greet guests to campus with a warm attitude of hospitality and care for our physical spaces, directing vehicles, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the parking facility. Most games require about 4-5 hours of time.

This person must commit to being available for all games including the following dates:

  • Saturday, Sep 21
  • Saturday, Oct 12
  • Saturday, Oct 26
  • Saturday, Nov 16
  • Friday, Nov 29*
    • *subject to holiday availability

 Game times are all TBD, and usually get announced a week or two before the games.  Call time is usually 3-4 hours prior to kickoff and may include morning, afternoons, or evenings.

In addition, we manage multiple event spaces, including the Performing Arts Center on the Arapahoe campus and the Nalanda Events Center on the Nalanda campus.  At times we may request your assistance with Front of House responsibilities during events. You may take tickets, provide support for guests, presenters, and stage managers with a spirit of sacred hospitality and willingness to serve our community. May include set-up or break down, audio/visual, house management, box office, as well as other behind-the-scenes operations. 

 Job Duties & Responsibilities

  Parking Lot Attendant Duties:

  • Direct traffic and assist patrons in finding available parking spaces.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and assisting with parking.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parking lot, including debris removal and equipment checks.
  • Use hand signals and other methods to direct traffic effectively.

Special Events Assistant Duties:

  • Collaborate with event coordinators to support special events. May include set up and take down of risers, chairs, tables, rugs, and other performance related gear.
  • Assist in setting up and dismantling event-related equipment and signage.
  • Provide directions and information to guests regarding event logistics.
  • Support guests with special needs.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and represent Naropa positively during events.
  • Other duties as assigned by Events Staff.
  • On the job training may occur in the following roles/areas: House Manager, Box Office Assistant, Maintenance, A/V.
