Job Summary

The Graduate School of Counseling is seeking Student Ambassadors to connect with prospective students and share their experiences in the program. Ambassadors will provide insight into student life, academics, and what it’s like to live in Boulder (if exploring a residential program). Student Ambassadors represent their respective concentration (e.g, Buddhist-Informed Contemplative Counseling, Somatic Counseling, Transpersonal Contemplative Art-Based Counseling, or Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling) and help prospective students envision their graduate school journey. Student Ambassadors should have enthusiasm for their program of study, a welcoming attitude, and a willingness to share their personal experiences to help prospective students better understand the rigors of clinical training.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• One-on-One Conversations: Meet with prospective students over Zoom to discuss personal experiences in the program and life in Boulder.
• Admissions Events & Webinars: Join Zoom calls with admissions counselors to share insights during information sessions and Q&A panels.
• Campus Tours & Interview Days: Attend in-person campus tours and interview days (both virtual and in-person) to engage with prospective students and answer questions about student life.
• Respond to Emails: Connect with prospective students regarding experiences in the program via email communication.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a Graduate School of Counseling CMHC program in one of the following concentrations: Buddhist-Informed Contemplative Counseling, Somatic Counseling, Transpersonal Contemplative Art-Based Counseling, or Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting peers in an academic or professional setting.
• Comfort with speaking in both one-on-one and group settings, such as through previous work in customer service, tutoring, tour guiding, or student leadership.
• Passionate about the program and eager to share experiences.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable speaking in group settings and one-on-one meetings.
• All job candidates must demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of and appreciation for the values of Naropa University and the capacity to demonstrate an integration and embodiment of these values as evidenced in work, communication, collaboration styles, and other general workplace behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Involvement in student organizations, volunteer work, or initiatives that foster connection and support.
• Prior experience speaking to prospective students, leading campus tours, or participating in student panels.
• Familiarity with the local community and an ability to share insights about living in Boulder, including housing, activities, and work-life balance.

During regular daily activities, employee must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: lift up to 10 pounds, stand, walk, sit, and interruptions/distractions.
