Compensation: Up to $3431.55 based on Naropa experience

Job Summary
This position teaches the undergraduate level course COL-220E Exploring Leadership the Fall 2025 semester. This is a 3-credit course.

Course Description:
This is an introductory, experiential course on leadership. The course draws from key historical and theoretical references as well as contemporary research and discourse on leadership. Students will explore leadership through the four lenses of Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Teams, and Leading Communities and Organizations. They will work in asynchronous pairs and small groups to apply what they are learning about leadership to their lives and work. Contemplative and embodiment practices will be offered to strengthen access to personal power and provide opportunities for integration. Students will also be able to reflect critically on the use of power in leadership and to explore leadership theory and practice from the perspective of black, indigenous and feminist perspectives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Teaches with a professional level of preparedness for 3 hours each week for the duration of the 15 week semester.
• Grades all assignments, provides feedback to students in a timely manner, and submits final grades by the deadline established by the Registrar.
• Submits grading and attendance data into the Learning Management System (LMS) in a timely manner.
• Provides one hour of office hours each week plus availability to students by appointment.
• Mentors students outside of class through meetings, phone or e-mail, as needed.
• Obtains permission from the copyright owner for any copyrighted material to be used in sourcebooks.
• Supports the Core Curriculum assessment process as assigned.
• Completes any and all trainings as required by Human Resources or the Office of Academic Affairs within the time period set for completion by those departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

• MA in Interdisciplinary Studies or a Humanities or Social Science discipline with an interdisciplinary component.
• High degree of emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and assertive communication skills.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
• Familiarity with course content and contemplative teaching methods.
• An understanding of the dynamics of privilege and oppression, and the impact these have on equity, access, and opportunity in higher education/the workplace.
• Commitment to co-create an inclusive community and actively participate in related professional development, including openness to feedback and ongoing self-examination.

What We’d Like You to Have
• Doctorate in relevant discipline.
• Previous teaching experience.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
Faculty members spend most of their time in their classrooms or in virtual meetings with some time in offices. In the classrooms and on campus may experience: interruptions, distractions, heat, cold, dust and/or dampness. As a faculty member, you may spend extended periods in front of students and speaking as well as:
• Reading academic texts and materials, student papers, etc.
• Operating personal computer and audio-visual equipment.
• Standing or sitting for hours at a time.
• Moving around campus for classes and meetings
