FTE: 13% (5 hrs/week)
Hiring Pay Range: $18 an hour
Remote: On Site

Job Summary:
The Wisdom Traditions Community Engagement Assistant would allocate approximately 5 hours per week to assist with various departmental tasks (promotion, registration, and on-site support) related to community events sponsored by the Department of Wisdom Traditions. These include, but are not limited to, the Wisdom Traditions Symposium, interreligious dialogues, visiting teachers, and other events.

The position reports directly to the Chair of Wisdom Traditions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
• Assist the Chair/ s of Wisdom Traditions with the administrative needs of the day-to-day administration, community practices and other scheduled events.
• Interface with faculty, and other Naropa departments, external agencies, or community members. This includes, but is not limited to: event publicity, social media postings, and co-curricular events.
• Assisting faculty, staff, or students with event coordination in a professional manner, as directed by supervisor.
• Researching various online projects, as determined by supervisor.
• Copying, filing and additional duties as needed.
• Assist in creating an uplifting University environment by demonstrating appreciation for department policies and workflow and regularly communicating such an attitude with fellow students.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Student must be awarded federal work study hours by the Naropa Financial Aid Office.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
• Student must be awarded work/study hours by the Financial Aid office.
• Demonstration of leadership through initiative, accountability, and responsibility.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Good computer skills, including prior experience in Microsoft products, primarily Word and Excel.
• All job candidates must demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of and appreciation for the values of Naropa University and the capacity to demonstrate an integration and embodiment of these values as evidenced in work, communication, collaboration styles, and other general workplace behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 1-2 years previous administrative office experience.
• Interest in contemplative education a plus
• Those with interest and familiarity with a variety of Wisdom Traditions are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
