Job Summary

This work study position will perform general office and front desk duties in the Student Affairs Offices.

 Job Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Provide information about the Naropa Campuses to students and the wider Naropa community, including what programs are housed at each campus and how to reach each campus by bus, car, or bicycle.
  • Answer the Student Affairs Office telephone and route them to the appropriate person/area. Take and deliver messages as required.
  • Perform any administrative tasks as assigned by the Coordinator of International Students and Scholars such as photo IDs, bus passes etc.
  • Manage the front desk and direct and assist visitors as required.
  • Collect mail from the mail room and distribute it correctly in office, deliver outgoing mail to the mail room.
  • Assist with hosting on-campus Student Affairs events.
  • Complete projects as assigned including mailings, compiling data and creating spreadsheets as needed.
  • Create and disseminate information through flyers and other bulletins for upcoming events hosted by Student Affairs. Distribute materials to all three campuses.
  • Assist and help with preparations for orientations including, but not limited to, creating, printing and stuffing packets, making student IDs, distributing handbooks and bus passes.
  • Assist and help with preparations for Graduation, including distributing sashes and tickets.
  • Help maintain student immunization records on file and health insurance enrollment and waiver forms.
  • Assist students and wider Naropa community as needed.
  • Water and care for plants in the office and staff lounge on a weekly basis.
  • Additional duties as required.

 What Naropa Requires…

 Student must be awarded Naropa work study funding by the Financial Aid office in order to fill this position.

  • Familiar with both Naropa Campuses (Arapahoe and Nalanda).
  • GPA of 2.0 or above.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic clerical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent phone skills. 
  • High level of attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. 
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
  • Ability to engage positively with the Naropa Community and public.

Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa’s retirement plan only, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.

All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff, including student workers, accrue sick leave benefits. Full-time and part-time staff positions accrue vacation and personal time. All leave accrual rates vary based on the position, hours worked, and years of service.
